 The Yawning Breath

The Yawning Breath is a useful breath for helping to induce sleep. In today’s over stressed world, it is useful to have a few techniques to break this cycle of sleeplessness.

Try this breathing exercise whilst lying in bed and ready for sleep. It is very effective!

Lying flat, body evenly placed, inhale through the nose in small sniffs until the lungs are full. Exhale normally through the nose. Repeat seven times in all.

Next, inhale through the nose in small ‘sniffs’ until the lungs are full. This time exhale through the open mouth. Repeat seven times in all.

Repeat both breaths seven times – if you can!

I usually can’t get beyond the first three breaths!
